The primary duties of a Police Officer is to:

Patrol the City of Murphysboro and protect the citizens thereof while enforcing applicable Federal, State and Local laws.
Police Officer shall be responsible for the care and inspection of all assigned equipment.
Police Officers shall conduct uniformed patrol with the City, concentrating on the prevention of crime through proactive enforcement, uniformed presence, and professional completion for calls of service.
Written reports of all activity shall be prepared.
